Medical College of Georgia Hooding Ceremony

2:00 PM

To celebrate the culmination of medical school, MCG students will complete the circle by once again walking across a stage. Instead of receiving the iconic short white coats that symbolize induction into medical school, MCG students will be receiving their hoods and diplomas.

The Hooding Ceremony takes place the day before Graduation at the William B. Bell Memorial Auditorium and formally acknowledges and celebrates the achievements of graduating medical students. The Hooding Ceremony also signals another step in their medical career as students recite the Hippocratic Oath and are welcomed into the medical profession.

There will be a Hooding Reception immediately following Hooding at the Old Medical College until 6:00 p.m.
